Broad Function:

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills and extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems. In addition, expertise in Windows patch updates, antivirus software, Windows firewall management, and working knowledge of ticketing systems like Zoho or Freshdesk is required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, including servers and workstations.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to Windows systems.
  • Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery preparedness.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the Windows environment.
  • Deploy security updates, patches, and software installations across the network.
  • Implement and maintain antivirus software, ensuring systems are protected from malware and other security threats.
  • Configure and manage windows firewalls to enhance network security and control access to resources.
  • Utilize ticketing systems like Zoho or Freshdesk to track and resolve user-reported issues.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to plan, implement, and support system upgrades and migrations.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Conduct system performance analysis and capacity planning to optimize system resources.
  • Monitor system logs and alerts, proactively addressing potential issues and security vulnerabilities.

Key skills required for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3 years of experience as a Desktop Support Engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows Server and Windows client platforms).
  • Knowledge on Work Group is must.
  • Must have good Exposure on WSUS (Windows Software update Service).
  • Must have understanding of Team Viewer, patch management, user management within a Windows environment.
  • Experience with managing and troubleshooting network services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
  • Good Knowledge in Windows patch management, including the deployment and testing of updates.
  • Proficient in configuring and managing antivirus software to protect systems from malware and security threats.
  • Experience in configuring and managing Windows firewalls to enhance network security and control access.
  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems like Zoho or Freshdesk for incident tracking and management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
